GTPL Software is made for counter flow wet cooling towers. Its main features are user-friendliness and flexible application. GTPL software has a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for input and output and is quite interactive to facilitate cooling tower thermal design process. This software is also having flexibility to accumulate forthcoming results of various research activity which are in progress.

GTPL has developed inhouse thermal design software using the data from fill manufacturers, strong data bank of Gammon India Limited generated from installing and maintaining cooling towers. Data from testing of cooling tower, refurbishment projects, new installations, all is mined to gain insight in cooling tower thermal design. This collective knowledge is applied to make a software, conditioned by years of experience.

Software has been tested for accurate result by utilizing data coming from operational cooling towers designed by Gammon/GTPL.

Calibration of software is done to fine tune the configuration so that the results are closer to reality for a given design condition. Process of calibration involves collection of data from various working cooling towers of different life time. This data is matched with the output of the software. Resulting discrepancy between the two data after comparing is analysed further to draw conclusion as to how various parameters of “calculation engine” is tweaked to bring the output result closer to field data. Calibration of GTPL thermal design software involves such rigorous process.
